Eagle eyed fans have spotted a few posters in The Last of Us Part 1 Remake that may be hinting and Naughty Dog’s next game. The posters are new and not found in the older versions of the game and seem to suggest Naughty Dog are working on a fantasy title.
The posters show dragons, a unicorn or Pegasus, and heroic looking female characters.
This wouldn’t be the first time Naughty Dog have teased there next game in a release, The Last of Us was referenced in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception with mention of a virus like plague on the front of a newspaper.
The images also tie in with some images that were posted by Naughty Dog’s senior concept artist, Hyoung Nam. The pictures, titled “Women of North”, show – gasp! – a heroic female character and a dragon! After posting the image Nam quickly added a comment saying the picture was “Inspire from new game call “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla”, however that doesn’t quite fit as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features precisely zero dragons.
He also added “You know what I’m talking about… “, perhaps suggesting that the image has nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and he’s just covering his buttocks.
Officially all we know is that Naughty Dog are working on a revamped version of the Factions multiplayer game from The Last of Us Part 1. However, it is well known that Naughty Dog have two development teams so they can work on two projects at once, perhaps this fantasy game is the second title.
Neill Druckmann popped up on the Summer Game Fest in June and described The Last of Us standalone multiplayer game as being as big, if not bigger than the studio’s renowned single player game, as they seek to take the original Factions mode to bold new heights.
