Survival Fountain of Youth is set to release in Q1 2023, Odinsoft has announced. The game is a survival title in which players are tasked with surviving on a group of Caribbean islands during the 16th century. The story follows a member of Juan Ponce de Leon’s expedition crew, and the aftermath of a shipwreck leaving the character on an island. The crew had been searching for the fountain of youth but are now scattered across the islands.
“Challenge is at the heart of Survival: Fountain of Youth because of its emphasis on scarce resources and the clever management of them,” said Stas Ignatov, Head of Publishing, Odinsoft. “Survival: Fountain of Youth aims to create an unparalleled experience in the survival genre by balancing that challenge with a beautiful, historically inspired setting when it arrives on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in Q1 2023.”
Players will have to use all of their wits to survive. The natural resources of the island and the waters will be key to making progress. Players can start by putting together spears and eventually getting to a point of building boats and metal armour. Food and water will be needed to keep the character’s energy levels up, as without those the character is at risk of dying. The wildlife is not friendly either with the likes of sharks swimming beneath the waves, and wolves prowling the islands for their next meal.
As progress is made it will become apparent that this shipwrecked expedition member is not the first to set foot on these islands. Evidence of an ancient civilisation will be around including shrines and tombs that contain their own puzzles that will shed light on the islands’ mysteries. Players will also need to search for clues to find out what happened to the rest of the crew of the doomed expedition.
