Stripe has named Vivek Sharma, a Meta veteran and Microsoft MVP, as its first head for revenue and financial management.
Sharma
will be responsible for overseeing an important part of Stripe’s
business, as it expands beyond payments to become a financial one stop
shop for internet-based businesses.
He will have Stripe Invoicing and Stripe Tax as his products.
Sharma
joined Stripe from Meta where he spent six-years helping to bring
Facebook Marketplace to one billion people. He also worked most recently
on Horizon, an immersive social network that was part of the firm’s
metaverse push.
He spent over a decade with Microsoft, in a variety of senior roles. This helped to transform Office 365 into a SaaS company.
Sharma
stated in a LinkedIn post about his new job: “We’re helping companies
earn more money in many ways–vital during the current slowdown — and
make accounting, tax, and analytics a lot easier so that they can manage
that income for a lot more effort.”
