From today until Monday 15th August, Sonic the Hedgehog and a bunch of his pals (and one enemy) are joining Fall Guys for a five day event that’s just going to go by like a flash. Gotta go fast, am I right?
The Sonic’s Adventure event will debut a brand new ring-gathering level called Bean Hill Zone – geddit? – where the way to score and progress to the next stage will be to grab as many rings as possible and qualify toward the top of the class. If you don’t, then you’ll be eliminated. The level will feature conveyor belts and log bridges to spice things up and keep you on your toes.
Of course, there’s also a bunch of Sonic-themed costumes to collect. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are there, and so is Super Sonic, but for me, the absolute standout costume is that of Dr. Robotnik (AKA Eggman).
As you’re playing, you’ll be racking up points, and there’s some Nameplates, Kudos and Sonic’s sneakers up for grabs if you gather 1000 points in total. Here’s the breakdown:
- Sonic Nameplate – 200 Points
- 200 Kudos – 400 Points
- Sonic Pattern – 600 Points
- 400 Kudos – 800 Points
- Sonic Sneakers – 1000 Points
One of the big hits of the summer of 2020, Fall Guys recently passed the 50 million player milestone after a major shakeup that saw the game going totally free-to-play as well as coming to Xbox and Switch for the first time. Mediatonic and Epic pushed through a grand migration on PlayStation in the last few weeks, leaving behind the original game client for a new utterly identical one… that simply changed the publisher from Mediatonic to Epic, who bought the studio not long after their breakout success.
