Destiny 2 Season of the Plunder
It leaked over the weekend and now it’s been officially confirmed, Destiny 2’s Season of the Plunder is about to begin, well, as soon as the Destiny 2 servers are back online.
Eramis, awoken from her icy prison by a Dark benefactor, has rallied old pirate lords of Eliksni legend to assist her in recovering lost relics of great power… unless you plunder them first. There is no horizon to reach, no edge to your map, but there most certainly is treasure. Assemble your crew, Guardian. Engage in ship-to-ship combat to stop Eramis and her pirate crew from wreaking chaos across the galaxy in this new 6-player activity.
Ketchcrash is a six player activity in which you “get to become your own ammunition” as you bounce around the ships. Expedition is the second new game mode for three players in which you have to defend a drill, and then there are Pirate Hideouts, “Swashbuckle through weekly missions and relieve pirate lords of powerful relics hidden within their hideouts.”
Eramis, Kell of Darkness, who was frozen at the end of the Europa campaign will be the big bad and you will be teaming up Drifter, Spider and other characters to fight her. You will also be getting “Your own Ketch”, but that was not completely explained. Kings Fall, a classic raid from Destiny’s past, will also launch shortly after the season begins.
The season will also see Arc 3.0 launch. “The new buff—amplified—which is key to the Arc 3.0 experience,” say Bungie. “An amplified Guardian is faster—both in terms of movement speed and in terms of their weapon handling—and more agile, able to perform long slides that can function as a devastating setup for some of the attacks that follow. Unlike other damage type buffs (Void’s invisibility or Solar’s radiant), players don’t need to equip any specific Aspects or Fragments to become amplified. By default, all Arc classes become amplified after rapidly defeating targets with any Arc damage, and equipped Aspects and Fragments offer additional ways to become or benefit from being amplified.”
If you are not at a decent Light level the good news, there is a free booster.
Gift of the Thunder Gods: Claim a free collection of Arc-themed gear that includes two Exotics and ten Legendaries. There’s a gift for each class, so each of your Guardians can catch up in the blink of an eye.
